Role Overview

We are seeking additional Engineers due to success and growth of the business. The successful candidate will have an extensive experience in the field of industrial diesel engines. The primary role of this position is the servicing, repairing and overhauling of diesel engines on our own and our customers generating sets.

Key Responsibilities

  • On site servicing of customer diesel generating sets at locations across the UK.
  • Identification and diagnosis of faults and subsequent rectification and testing of equipment.
  • Engagement with customers to ensure positive customer experience.
  • Servicing of Central Power Services own hire fleet.
  • Pre and post hire inspections.
  • Load bank testing to ensure efficient running of equipment.
  • Ensuring all equipment and vehicles and work areas are kept clean and tidy.

Skills & Experience / Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A good ability and aptitude to be able to carry out temporary repairs to keep the client operational whilst the correct parts are ordered.
  • Dependent upon the site locations, the successful candidate may need to work away from home on the odd occasion.
  • The company offers a true 24/7 call out service and as such the successful candidate will need to partake in the call out rota.
  • As the demands of the business vary, it is likely that this candidate will become involved in other aspects of our operations such as generator installation and fabrication work, and UPS battery build installations.
  • Min 5 years’ experience working in the diesel generator field.
  • City & Guilds / NVQ in Engineering.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of a variety of manufacturers equipment.
  • Manufacturers Training Courses would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work as a team player and also unsupervised.
  • Clean Driving Licence.
