At Central Power Services, the hire desk is at the centre of everything we do. It’s where customer commitments, logistics, and operational delivery come together. We’re looking for a Hire Desk Controller / Administrator to support the day-to-day running of our rental operations and help keep things moving smoothly.
This role suits someone who understands the pace and pressure of a busy hire or logistics environment and takes pride in keeping things organised, accurate and on track. You’ll be a key point of contact for customers, drivers, engineers -and internal teams, helping make sure jobs are planned properly and delivered as promised.
What the role involves
- Processing hire orders from initial enquiry through to off-hire
- Scheduling deliveries, collections and equipment movements
- Liaising with customers to confirm availability, timings and requirements
- Coordinating with transport, drivers and engineers to maximise efficiency
- Raising contracts, purchase orders and hire documentation
- Managing changes, queries and problem-solving in real time
- Maintaining accurate system records and hire data
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in a hire desk, rental or logistics-based role
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence communicating with customers and internal teams
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Solid IT skills and experience using hire or transport systems
- A proactive, reliable and practical approach to work
