CPS keeps the Blackpool Lights on

With over 100 artists on stage over three days at one amazing venue, Blackpool Festival 2018, held in July on the new Tower Festival Headland, needed plenty of power to keep it going.
With some of the world’s most famous DJs playing live sets on stage, from Faithless to Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo to Paul Oakenfold, dependable power was essential to keep the turntables turning, the mikes live and the mixers smoothly segueing the tracks.
The huge crowds that flocked to the seafront partied on all day and night, blissfully unaware of the efforts of the CPS team. We installed no less than seven portable generators, to both supply main 
power and to create an instant backup in case anything went wrong.
“The show must go on,” explained John Fitzmaurice – Regional Sales Manager, CPS. “Especially when you have thousands of happy festival-goers to entertain. CPS designed a system with the capacity to keep the festival flying all day and long into the night, whatever happened.”
It took our team a few days to get everything in place and wired up safely, but it was all worthwhile. The two huge days of dance went without a hitch, with the CPS generators purring away beneath the music. And they were still going strong on the Sunday for the children’s day with favourite friends like Peppa Pig and Peter Rabbit.
The festival season is always busy for us at CPS, but to be part of such a party, attracting a truly world-class line up to Lancashire, was a real privilege.
