Diesel Generator Field Service Engineer

Our role

At Central Power Services, our engineers are at the heart of what we do. We support customers across critical, industrial, commercial and standby power, and we know that reliability starts with skilled people on the ground. We’re now looking to add a Diesel Generator Field Service Engineer to strengthen our service team as we continue to grow.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who takes pride in their work, enjoys problem-solving, and values the trust customers place in us when their power really matters. You’ll be supported by a knowledgeable team, given the space to work independently or as part of the wider team and backed by a business that values doing the job properly.

What the role involves

• Planned and reactive maintenance of diesel generators (standby and prime)
• Electrical and mechanical fault-finding and diagnostics
• Engine work across major OEMs
• Control panel diagnostics and basic commissioning
• Load testing, inspections and compliance checks
• Completing clear, accurate service reports and communicating professionally with customers
• Taking part in an on-call rota as part of a wider team

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience servicing and repairing diesel generators (essential)
• Strong electrical bias with good mechanical understanding
• Experience working in a field service environment
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
• Full UK driving licence
• A professional, reliable and customer-focused approach
