Commissioned by a leading UK housebuilder to deliver a reliable and sustainable temporary power solution for welfare facilities during the early stages of a new development
Challenges
- No permanent mains connection available during initial site works
- Essential site facilities including offices, canteens, and drying rooms required continuous power
- Sustainability goals focused on reducing fuel consumption, emissions, and noise levels
Our Solution
Central Power Services designed and delivered an innovative hybrid power system tailored to the project’s operational and environmental requirements.
- Powercube deployment: Installed a secure steel container housing a generator, fuel tank, and distribution system – a compact, all-in-one solution
- Hybrid integration: Added a 45/90 battery pod to work in tandem with the generator, storing energy and reducing runtime
- Support services: Provided fuel management, cabling, and on-site commissioning for seamless operation
- Efficiency gains: Optimised system performance to minimise fuel usage and emissions while maintaining a reliable power supply
This approach ensured the site’s welfare facilities remained fully operational while aligning with the client’s sustainability targets.
Outcome
The hybrid power solution achieved a 75% reduction in fuel consumption, significantly lowering carbon emissions and noise levels on site.
Central Power Services enabled the client to meet its environmental objectives, reduce operating costs, and maintain operational efficiency during the construction phase.
Working in Partnership
Collaboration was essential to delivering an effective solution. Central Power Services worked closely with the client’s project team to design, implement, and optimise the hybrid system, ensuring it met both performance and sustainability objectives. This partnership-focused approach supported efficient site operations while contributing to the housebuilder’s long-term environmental commitments.
